The Floor Scrubber: Battery-Operated or Electric?

Floor scrubbers are one of the most innovative types of cleaning devices when it comes to keeping highly-trafficked surfaces clean. These machines allow you to cover much more surface area in a shorter amount of time than you would with traditional mops and buckets. There are two primary types of floor scrubbers in terms of power sources: battery-operated and electric. Each option offers own benefits, so selecting the one that is right for you depends largely on your business needs and preferences.

Battery-Operated Floor Scrubbers

Battery-operated floor scrubbers don't need to be plugged into an electrical outlet. Therefore, they are much more convenient and mobile than electric floor scrubbers since they can be used anywhere, whether or not there is an electrical power outlet in the area. They tend to cost more money upfront than electric ones, however, and they require more maintenance since their batteries must be charged and replaced periodically as they wear out.

Electric Floor Scrubbers

While electric floor scrubbers won't be able to cover as much space in one go as battery-operated ones, due to the cords always getting in the way, they can keep on operating for far longer. You don't have to worry about the battery running out on you as long as you have an ample power source nearby. The cord makes electric floor scrubbers less maneuverable than battery-operated ones, but they tend to cost less and require little to no maintenance.
