How to Best Use Your Automatic Floor Scrubber

Like any other machine, automatic floor scrubbers can perform a variety of different functions in maintaining your flooring. Once you purchase an automatic floor scrubber for your business, the first step is to read the manufacturer's instructions on how to use it. This booklet will also contain invaluable information on setting up your new automatic floor scrubber for use on different kinds of floors and for cleaning different types of issues.

Walk-behind Scrubbers
The standard type of automatic floor scrubber is the walk-behind variety. In this method, you walk behind and push or guide the floor scrubber over the areas you want it to clean. For particularly dirty areas, you can set the scrubber to clean and agitate only and then go over that area again using the clean, agitate, recover and buff functions.

Driving Floor Scrubbers
If your business has expansive areas of flooring, a driving floor scrubber is a great choice to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible. These floor scrubbers operate much like a riding lawn mower. You can use these scrubbers to dispense cleaning or sealant stripping solutions, scrub or buff it into the floor, vacuum up the leftover liquid and dry the floor. A separate recovery tank holds the spent fluid. Some driving floor scrubbers reuse the recovered cleaning fluid and use a separate chamber for dirt and other particles that are filtered out of the cleaning solution.
